South Korean Clinic Treatment (Dr. Minbo Shim)

I don't have the cash yet. :arghh:
I started saving with the hope that in 5-10 years I can spend my money.
I just would be awesome if I knew I was saving for an existing proven treatment.

If there was a proven treatment I would sell everything that I own in my room. That would probably be worth $4,000+. Then, I would use $2,000 to invest into online resale, buy & sell things I knew had sufficient profit. As soon as I had $24,000 I would leave in a heartbeat.

This tinnitus and the hearing loss problems have held me back quite a bit. I want to move on with my life >.>

Hi @Anonymous2929, If you browse through the audiograms you will see what can be achieved. Most certainly improvements but not a cure (yet). You can also check the diagrams I posted and which is also shown in the film. Remark that the audiograms do have different formats which suggests that they have not been taken in the clinic. That makes it more credible.

Well, it seems to be a total cure for some of the patients from 1 shot. this is the trick with stem cells, depends how well they settle in and regrow whats damaged. if you will continiously do this for ffew months - i am sure that hearing will be back and T will dissapear, question is - how much will it cost in that case ? probably around $100.000 to be sure if you will have slow progress.

I emailed the Korean clinic to ask about my case.

Some of the audiograms they publish don't make sense : there are improvements in one ear, but sometimes the other is worse.

Based on what I have seen, it theoretically would not be that expensive. Some posts show good progress within one session. Even someone around my age, with similar hearing issues, was posted! o.o

I don't know how to read this audiogram. I am not sure what M stands for.
Average?
What I do not understand is that frequencies closer to the base of the cochlea are not measured? 6K and 8K.
What is NRM?
Perhaps not registered? So damage in cochlea is too extensive?

What I know about the Clinic:

1. A guy named Dr. Shim Minbo is often mentioned within the CMClinic website videos. This very same name appears on a blog post from a Stanford page, saying the guy was a huge help. Both Shim Minbos appear to have same face. He, supposedly, has a Twitter account with username of "updatemed."
2. There is a url "updatemed.com" that redirects to a more cleaner site in Korean. This site has similar claims, same logo and name.
3. Cheong-Min Clinic appears in Google search top page with outdoor and indoor pictures, one outdoor picture seems to be 3d model, the other not.

My brain hurts from all the caution, optimism, and skepticism...

I'm waiting for their reply... But they have different websites and emails so not sure which one they really use.

I'll make a decision for a stem cells treatment in june next year. I don't want to rush things but I can't stand my T anymore, so I'll have to try something other than meditation or magnesium... Many have done it before, like Ateos, but the results have failed to impress me so far.

The good thing is that I could fly in an Airbus A380 to go to Korea, which is very quiet. There's no point getting this treatment if I ruin my ears two days later in a Boeing B777 o_O

I did not follow too deeply Ateos experience with stem cell therapy, did finally his T symptoms improved after his treatment in Thailand?

Yes his T improved over his year of experimentations, he seems fine today, but I feel like we'll never know what was truly useful : LLLT, stem cells, drugs, natural recovery ?

He had only minor hearing loss if I remember well, and that was not noise-induced. So not an example at all for people like me.

The CM clinic looks very interesting. I'm curious to see what kind of treatment procedure they propose.... It appears they are currently getting a lot of requests from people via the TT forum. I also wrote them. Let's see what this brings.

I got a first reply 30 minutes after my email. Nothing new, I asked for more details. Quite surprising to see it's the doctor himself who answers... I hope he's not alone in the clinic :LOL:

By the way if you go through videos on that website, Dr. Shim is all over, well based on his bio ge is one if the lead otoraibtologysts in south korea so no wonder
