  • COVID, 3 years after everybody. Very anxious to be feeling so breathless and dreading my tinnitus to spike. Please let me be safe...
    SarahMLFlemmer
I thought your T was gone??
    Lurius
Oh noes :( I'm so sorry. Tbh I thought I got covid myself last week. I've been able to dodge it so far, I don't really understand how. Some of my friends who also dodged it in 2020 got it for the first time now in October.
(2/2) I'm almost 100% cured from tinnitus and can't risk anything jeopardizing my recovery..
    Juliane
Do you know what healed you? Just time?
    Ondine
@Juliane Time, almost 3 years next february, living in a quiet environment and being supported by everyone around me. Sadly I would also say this is sheer luck, as some may have waited just as long and lived in silence without improving as much...
    Juliane
@Ondine Did you still meet with friends and socialize during those three years?
(1/2)I have to take Prednisolone 50g for 5 days for sciatica, but I'm so scared of taking it... Any advice on what I should do ?
    Lurius
I also had some sciaticia issues in September, I wish you a speedy recovery :)
    Ondine
@Lurius Thank you <3 How are you doing...?
    Lurius
@Ondine I'm off my sleeping meds now for 2-3 weeks again so a little worse sleep, a little worse T. I keep it in check by working out and some Lenire but still not great 60% of the time. You are always so kind to me, I'm thinking of you as well <3
My left ear has been acting up. Frequent fleeting tinnitus, burning feeling. I wish I could have a tchat with my body & ask it what's wrong.
The anxiety and trauma this family caused me since birth while blaming me for it is mindblowing. I don't deserve this. Can't sleep.
    Juliane
I am so sorry. Being misunderstood or gaslighted by family is horrible
    4Grace
I am so sorry to hear this. I pray that sleep finds you.
Head vibrations return. My sister said and did horrible things to me yesterday. She's not even sorry and gaslighting me for defending myself
Depression & anxiety are hard to deal with, I'm taking a break from TT. Take care, I love you all. You're brave in a way only we understand.
    kingsfan
My tinnitus was at it's best when I took a long break from here. I hope it will be the same for you.
    S
Hope you feel better soon @Ondine depression and anxiety can suck the life out of you.
    Lurius
Hope you had a nice day, mademoiselle. I wish you silence.
So happy for you that you've come such a long way over 2 years and are here to share your improvement. You are one strong woman <3 At your worst, did you have multiple tones? And did you have any sound sensitivty/reactivity?
    Ondine
@ErikaS But it usually goes away in a few hours, 24h max, and isn't a severe pain. The severe ear pain I experience comes at night, but I've experienced it for years and years before my onset. Something to do with teeth clenching and tension all around the jaw/neck area...
    Ondine
@ErikaS You're so kind to call me strong, I wish I could believe in these words... Most of the time, I just feel like a broken human being. Lifelong depression and anxiety didn't do well with tinnitus trauma. But thank you so much... Anyone surviving this nightmare day after day and still finding the courage to go on is strong. You are too, and I admire you so much for it.
    4Grace
Must be a great feeling to have had tinnitus go away 95 percent! What a dream. Although I am careful I don't think I am anywhere near careful enough with noise exposure. I stay away from loud events and have declined many an invite but the place where I stay daily masks my T and I cannot for the life of me put on ear plugs for all the hours that I should
Ondine, I hope you are allright. I think about you sometimes. I hope you can get much better in the future.
    stacey
That's good to know , thanks for explaining how glad you were still able to go out a bit and at least get stuff done.
    Utdmad89
@Lurius I'm also autistic. Was it visaul snow the reason you found out about gaba dysfunction?
    S
@Ondine fantastic to hear you are doing better in regards to the tinnitus. Having silence again is wonderful, enjoy and cherish it. I'm jealous lol :)
Everytime I feel confident enough to come and share my progress and healing with you, I get a random spike the next day. Beyond frustrating.
Hi, @Ondine . Re: your concerns about beer. For what's worth, I drink beer regularly. 1 - 3 beers, no change. Tipsy, still good. Drunk, bad idea! Start small if you are dying for a beer. Try just 4 ounces. We need all of the little pleasures we can get. I hope you get another few days of quiet soon! Cheers!
    Ondine
Hi ! Thank you for your kind message, I've actually tried a sip of beer a few days ago with no side effects whatsoever, it felt great to enjoy the family reunion a bit more :)

How are you doing these days ?
    W
Nice to hear you enjoyed your family reunion. Family is so important. As for me, I have been up and down this past week. Sometimes the noise is less intrusive, but it's not constant. Thank you for asking!
    How's it going over there?
    Ondine
@SarahMLFlemmer I have already had those "spikes" during the last year and everytime they got better within days, I hope this one will fade as well... My neck, shoulders and jaw felt very stiff lately, it might be a reason why. I've been icing my left ear and protecting it with a foam ear plug while it lasts.
    Ondine
    SarahMLFlemmer
@Ondine I've been up and down, up and down. ❤️
I might have to go back to my old job in high school, but I'm terrified of all the noise. I wish I could find a way to work from home.
Dying to drink a beer but far too scared of potential consequences to even dare.
    Lorca
Hi Ondine, I don't find any correlation. If anything it helps alleviate the stress of this condition.
    S
If it has any effect itll be a temporary one. I drink quite frequently now, ciders beers etc and i find it makes me sleep quicker, then again it always has i just notice that more now.
A friend developed pulsatile T. Her doctor said "it's all in your head" and sent her home. There's no end to my hatred for those criminals.
This vibrating head thing is starting to really affect my sleep. It's also vibrating anytime now, not just when I'm lying down..
Sending all my support and so much love to everyone. It's not much of a comfort, but you are all the bravest people I've ever met.
    Lurius
La bravoure commence par la peur, puis l'échec, puis l'incertitude, puis on se redresse petit à petit. Tu es sur ce chemin maintenant et j'ai confiance en toi, jeune baguette :)
    Tom Okay
Thanks, I need a little support today!
    SarahMLFlemmer
    Right there with you! <3
I'm starting to wonder if TMJ could be one the main culprits for all this, I'm meeting with a physical therapist specializing in TMJ tuesday
T has been virtually silent for the last 6 days. Jaw pain is becoming more present however, radiating at times in the teeth, temple, ear..
I've been having a lot of jaw and dental pain, and several episodes of ear pain and fleeting tinnitus for the last two days..
    Ondine
@Strawberryblonde My dentist and physical therapist both acknowledged I had a lot of tensions in the jaw, but never diagnosed as TMJ
    Ondine
@Strawberryblonde I never had jaw pain or problems prior to tinnitus, but since the onset 2 years ago I've been experiencing them regularly
    S
Maybe you could try some jaw massages if you have not done already. It could help loosen any knots/tension if any :) and an alternating hot/cold compress to see if it helps too :)
Anxiety causes subconscious jaw tightness, it does with me.
I stopped improving, but I'm deeply and forever grateful for all the improvements so far. I hope there's more to come...
Didn't see any friends since 3 years because of Covid then tinnitus, as train tunnels hurt my ears. Had to quit a job I loved.
2 years. Lost faith, trust and respect in doctors and medicine. Lost any sense of safety. T makes me feel like a prey chased by a monster.
    Guywithapug
So sorry to hear this, hopefully things will turn around in time and get better. Hugs! :)
for a few seconds, several times in a row, then stops ? It's happening more and more frequently, longer each time & only when I lie down..
    ErikaS
Are you on any meds, @Ondine ? I had to decreased my Remeron because it was giving me inner ear and head vibration feeling at night when laying down. Once I went down to the tiniest dose (3.75mg) it seems to have gone away.
    Ondine
@ErikaS No, I'm not on any meds and only taking B12 supplements, but I've been taking them forever and doubt they could have such a side effect on the long term..? Thank you for your answer, I'm glad you could get rid of the vibration !
Does anyone experience a strange, inner vibration sensation in your head ? Like your entire face is softly vibrating from the inside (1/2)
Cried myself to sleep last night, the vibrating, humming T in my right ear is getting stronger again..
    Ondine
@Strawberryblonde None that I can think of, spikes and changes are always so random... My neck and shoulders have been very stiff these last few days, and I've been having more nightmares bringing their own anxiety, but no change in diet, noise exposure or daily routine... Thank you for your concern <3 I see you had a loud multitonal day, are you feeling any better since ?
    Ondine
@Sammy0225 Thank you for your constant support and kindness <3 I'm sorry I'm taking such a long time to reply whenever you answer my status, I tend to lose track of time, carefully reply in my thoughts and then forget to do it for real... I hope you're well, I was so glad to read you could enjoy a meal with friends !
    S
That stiffness could well be the cause of the hum you have been dealing with, have a relaxing bath in some epsom salts (magnesium) and I always find a hot waterbottle helps somewhat when my back plays up :) @Ondine My loud days depend on how my mood is, I suffer with chronic anxiety which in itself is a daily battle the T certainly doesn't help.
Lifelong depression, ADHD, eating disorders, eco-anxiety, tinnitus. I'm tired of it all..
    Sammy0225
I'm so sorry you are to go through all these issues @Ondine my heart and prayers are with you, please stay strong we are rooting for you always
    How are you doing friend?
    Ondine
How are you doing ? Thanks again for asking <3
    Sammy0225
@Ondine your welcome (^.^) and same last week all tones came back! (Wine glass, hiss and eee) also humming that so strange that we both experienced this! Lol and you are right it's definitely stressful, but you are super strong and not letting this get the best of you! (.)….
    Sammy0225
(.)… sorry to hear about the outing but u did the right thing of plugging up. If it wasn't for the sensitivity I feel we could narrow through life more easily. As for me I'm taking it day by day. Last week got me nervous cause the humming and wine glass came back but it eventually faded away again, and your definitely welcome I'm always here to talk or vent to ^.^ {:
