Yeah. I've even asked them to turn down the theater next to me because it was drowning out the movie I was watching. We can do that??? Game changer
Will def try it if my local cinema ever opens up again.

If they honestly can't hear it then they need hearing aids. Did you tell him that loud noise causes tinnitus and hyperacusis and by turning it louder it could affect other people's hearing at the cinema? As an ex Cinema employee, it's a double edged sword.
Someone will ask to turn it down, someone else will complain that it's not loud enough. So on and so forth.
One guy kept insisting that we turn it up, and then I just told him "No, we can't, there's a limit." And he got real pissy with me.
Hey, Elmer, sorry to hear about what happened to your wife but glad she's doing well now.The Mrs. is doing well, a slow recovery with a stent in the heart main artery. So depression gets in and days are hard to get through. I went through the same thing. So now we are known as the STENT twins.
Support is the best medicine.
This was before my hyperacusis and before my tinnitus knocked me on my ass. I wasn't giving either of them any thought.Did you tell him that loud noise causes tinnitus and hyperacusis and by turning it louder it could affect other people's hearing at the cinema?

Speaking of movies, any of you ever watch a movie and think "Wow, everyone in this would have tinnitus"?
I was watching Superman: Red Son the other day, and my god in real life that would be loud. Gunfire, bombs exploding, buildings crashing down.
That first year when my tinnitus went ape shit I was watching Harley Quinn and Batman. Nightwing comments after an explosion that his ears are going to be ringing for months. Since then I've noticed how much some action movies actually put in tinnitus sounds after some action/bomb scenes. Not to mention scary movies. They annoy me since they kind of play with my tinnitus noises. (I know there's a whole episode of Family Guy about tinnitus, and references of tinnitus sprinkled in Bob's Burgers.)This was before my hyperacusis and before my tinnitus knocked me on my ass. Out of all the super heroes to get tinnitus, I imagine that Batman and Co. would be the most likely.Nightwing comments after an explosion that his ears are going to be ringing for months
Family Guy or Archer? I know Family Guy had a joke about it but I recall Archer having an episode as well.(I know there's a whole episode of Family Guy about tinnitus, and references of tinnitus sprinkled in Bob's Burgers.)
Hello aot,Out of all the super heroes to get tinnitus, I imagine that Batman and Co. would be the most likely.

Too true!!Out of all the super heroes to get tinnitus, I imagine that Batman and Co. would be the most likely.
I know Family Guy has a few jokes about tinnitus, but I thought there was a whole episode about Lois getting it. Then at the end she's like "Thank goodness it went away. Can you imagine having it forever!"Family Guy or Archer? I know Family Guy had a joke about it but I recall Archer having an episode as well.
Oof. That kind of hurts.Thank goodness it went away. Can you imagine having it forever!"
I've never watched an episode of Archer in my life, just seen a clip or two.@aot I've tried watching Archer a few times and I can never get into it. Kind of like Rick and Morty.
Still takes it more seriously than Baby Driver did, I guess.Archer has tinnitus but it doesn't drive him to crazy as he is constantly firing handguns in enclosed spaces without hearing protection etc. The tinnitus is more like a literary device to add to his neurosis and alcoholism and high libido - the writers don't handle it seriously. Still a very entertaining show that grew on me.
Yeah!!!! Another Turbo fan. It's so underrated. I am a HUGE animation fan. GIANT! And anime though I haven't been keeping up on the newer anime stuff as good as a I used to.Hello aot,

Been waiting for Rick and Morty but feeling disillusioned now as they are so slow in production.
@Shera I love animation and have seen a lot being a dad with little ones too. Picture Daniel with his kids crying his eyes out to Turbo or Kung Fu Panda, I am a total sap.
Believe it or not, Lego Batman are pretty darn cool with lots of adult references and funny jokes for all ages.
Yes! At the time I didn't have tinnitus, but my mom had had it for quite a while so it hit hard and stuck with me.Oof. That kind of hurts.
I might try it again then.I've never watched an episode of Archer in my life, just seen a clip or two.
Around here that's pretty average. So don't feel too guilty.3 kids... I am a spawner, feel guilty about that... just caught carried away with my misses... we love kids.
Do you have Netflix? If so, I absolutely recommend Hilda! It's such a wonderful, beautifully animated show that doesn't get enough love. The 2nd season airs tomorrow.@aot - 11/7/4. Soon to be 12/8/5.

@Shera my little one loves ghosts and anything related to Halloween. We loved Scooby Doo and he went nuts for Goosebumps, not an animated movie but a kid friendly Halloween tale. He was so enamored with horror and scary stuff that I was getting concerned... no worries now, just his taste. The little one likes a cartoon called Tom and Friends and Teen Titans now, Cyborg and Friends are a good laugh.
To be a superhero with tinnitus or hyperacusis would be insanely challenging. Perhaps the hero who had these afflictions would be like Professor X staying out of conflict and focused on logistics and other brainy stuff. It's a crazy handicap, one noise and our superhero tinnitus warrior is Toast.
Speaking of animation, have you watched Undone? If not then you should check it out. It's emotional yet extremely funny, especially if you like sarcastic humour.Do you have Netflix? Check out 'Over The Garden Wall' soon you mentioned about kid friendly halloween animations - https://www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/over_the_garden_wall@aot - 11/7/4. Soon to be 12/8/5.

There is a show called 'Doom Patrol' which is a bit like a mix of X-Men, Scooby Doo and Alice in the Wonderland on meth. Disabilities and mental illness are 2 of the biggest themes of the show, which relates to what you said there. It's really strange with dark humour, but the writing is really well done at the more serious parts. To be a superhero with tinnitus or hyperacusis would be insanely challenging. You mentioned liking anime, have you seen Mo Dao Zu Shi? You can actually watch it for free on YouTube with subtitles and I remember at the time it got like anime of the year (I forgot what place lol) even though it's from China. It's better than most of the Japanese anime I have saw and it gets 8.6/10 by audience from iMDB so it's pretty well liked. A lot of Chinese anime (it's called Donghua over there) have been getting more popular lately so I recommend checking some out if you want to try something new that isn't Japanese or Western (Shout out to the French animation 'I lost my Body). There's lots of 3d stuff, but mostly 2d - https://www.anime-planet.com/anime/tags/chinese-animationYeah!!!! Another Turbo fan. It's so underrated. I am a HUGE animation fan. GIANT! Lego Batman is my favorite Lego movie. I loved all the comic references.

Oh, @Daniel Lion have you seen the Happy Halloween, Scooby-Doo! It's way better than the big Scooby-Doo movie that came out and the humor and references are epic! Not to mention DC crossovers as well as some real life ones. @aot I think you'd love it too!
I second that, Over The Garden Wall is top tier.Check out 'Over The Garden Wall' soon you mentioned about kid friendly halloween animations -
Thanks for both of your recommendations. I will have a search this evening for Doom Patrol. I am interested to know more about the writers. Super cool, I like it already.Check out 'Over The Garden Wall' soon you mentioned about kid friendly halloween animations - https://www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/over_the_garden_wall

I have to dig for it...some sites say not available in your region. I am going to find a place to download or stream in due time.Doom Patrol is a good show. You should definitely watch it @Daniel Lion.
Happy Birthday Daniel.I have to dig for it...some sites say not available in your region. I am going to find a place to download or stream in due time.
I saw your post about dear Allan. I think about the old boy as well. A fallen sufferer and friend on our watch or time in purgatory with the tinnitus. His tinnitus volume was off the charts chronic, a total shame. I pray his kids and wife will understand and generally just be ok, I know he adored his family. It could be me, I know it would just take a change in volume. RIP dear Allen, we have not forgotten you.
Nearly forgot... Happy Birthday to me.
Hugs and warm wishes to my tinnitus friends.
His wife already has a new man.I do hope Allan's kids and wife are alright.
We're just fine. Thank you bro.Happy Birthday Daniel.
I do hope Allan's kids and wife are alright.
Scary stuff... The meds do work miracles with blockages, so I pray that's the case and your darling and you can sleep easy again. 2-3 weeks I imagine.Had the Mrs. in for her 6 week check up after the heart attack and a stent put in. Went ok, but they told her they found 2 more small blockages, the medication will take care of them, not to worry.
That's like saying the guns are not loaded.
