Chit Chat and All That...

F*ck me @aura.

What is going on inside your head? (aside from the noise I mean...)

This is some dark sh*t (O_O )

And who the hell is EVA!?(/_\)
And as I weren't scared enough of women before...
This doesn't look good...

And to add, I'm probably getting hacked by a Chinese girl... Or a Chinese man :D

Time will tell...

For instance in the US there are places where books could be found for like cents... but in Spain unfortunately books are really expensive, even second hand they can be expensive... maybe people do buy and sell or trade them through apps. I am trying that now, although it is sometimes time consuming and somehow odd... it's hard to agree with sellers on where to pick books up, where to meet etc.. if they have to mail them, the cost is similar to just buying the book at any shop..
I live in Germany and we've basically got the same kind of problem when it comes to second hand goods and the fact that they're almost identical in price to what the new product would cost.

It is one of many examples that make it obvious that something is wrong with this world. People encouraged to be less wasteful but the moment you try stepping away from the big waste creating systems and being just that, somebody realises that money is being lost and just like that your old book or pants are no longer old but vintage and, bang, prices go up. This in combination with what shop owners have to charge in order to cover the ridiculously high commercial rent they are being changed and the way carriers seem to rise their rates every half year and it doesn't take long for even the most environmentally conscious person to realise that the same people who lecture you about being wastefulness prefer you shopping for new stuff at the big A.

It is one of the reasons why I've come to appreciate this little online "flea market" with its "give away / lend / swap" category. It (still) works outside the system, avoids a lot of rubbish because my rubbish is somebody else's greatest treasure, and the prices are exactly what you'd expect something to cost / something is worth to you. I've gotten some amazing things this way and it also made me far less clingy when it comes to letting go some of my own stuff. In my eyes it's a win-win situation and I hope it will continue to remain the kind of trading platform it is for a long, long time.

For me one of the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic has been growing more environmentally conscious, and leading a slower life.

In some aspects, re-connecting with small tasks and little pleasures in daily activities has been great. I have been cycling a lot and barely use the car anymore. I also see this trend around me, people walking more, cycling, using the car less and not flying at all.

Actually bikes were sold out at many places, and there wasn't any stock left and second hand bikes were more expensive too. Many people have realised this is better than using a car and Spain has wonderful weather to cycle anywhere.

In Denmark some people cycle under rain or with a bit of snow, and here weather is fantastic and people are only now starting to realise we do not need a car for anything.

Changing topics, I read Berlin wanted to expropriate apartments from big real estate company to drive rents down. Do you know if this was approved? The press here said it was some sort of referendum but the article I read was vague about the implications...

I've read about that myself but so far that's about as much as I've picked up on the topic. Since we don't have referendums in Germany the decision will be made my a bunch of politician. Personally I feel if they are really going through with this, it will be the beginning of the end. Property is property and need doesn't justify the compulsory acquisition of such. Because where does it start and where does it end? If I've got a house but choose to live in a tent in my yard or own a car but choose to just have it sit in my barn because I only want to use it for a joyride on Christmas Eve should somebody else automatically be entitled to my house or my car or my whatever because I'm not using it the way it was meant? In my eyes, the government sanctioning the compulsory acquisition of somebody else's property by selling it to the public as some kind of modern Robin Hood act is a very wrong and dangerous step to take because it means that if only there is a desperate or needy enough party everything will be fair game. And with that we're back at Rand's Atlas Shrugged!

Sorry, we only accept guys with boobs.

You're pretty skinny from what I understand :)
I used to have boobs - so can I join in ??

So that damn China doll was a hacker... now I'm less aroused but still excited... :(

I was stupid enough to throw in my email address containing my name and she got my phone number and then also the address.

What can I expect? :) Bills for crap I never ordered?

It's quite easy ordering stuff online. If you give up email and social security number, that's all you need...

I hope she can't scoop up my social security number...? (I emptied my emails just in case).

Anyone got a funny remark or advice? :)

Yeah, I see what you mean, I can see that side.

I also can see the side of the government wanting to expropriate from companies (not from individual owners), trying to balance a real estate market that has been intervened and fuelled by wrong policies implemented by central banks, like QE and ultralow interest rates.

I know there is a debate in Germany too about the inflation that ultralow interest rates are generating, which is affecting property prices.

Meh. It'll probably cost you about the same amount as a legit relationship with a woman would have.

¯\_( ¬_¬)_/¯

Yes.

This China dick chick managed to do in one day what we couldn't do in 7 months. Find out who "Exit" really is.
The worst part is I don't even like Asian girls. And I've come to realise I pressed NO a dozen times on her profile photos with different names.

She just got me on a desperate restless day... :( :( :(

I really must extend many congratulations to @Jcb for instigating the thread 'Chit Chat and all that.'

This seems to be the place where 'anybody who is anybody' meets up these days.

Jazzer

You have to do better than that!

Take @Jazzer, for example.

He's entertaining us but keeping it classy in the same time.

Come on, @Exit, you can do it!

We have one ticket left! :p
I don't know about classy... but I discovered more fun...

So I not only got schemed but also mixed China dicky up with another girl on my phone list so I sent her a message too.

Probably not very classy...
So now she's offended and then she will laugh her ass off when I tell her I got schemed...

Everybody is a winner except ol' Exit...
