Chit Chat and All That...

Fangirling!!! So pretty!
And the inside is beautiful as well! It's essentially the hardcover colored editions formatted into three paperbacks. I love it to death and it looks great on my shelf.

Remembered this scene from Spongebob and this is exactly what it feels like having hyperacusis/tinnitus

Squidward vibes.

I know that feeling. The fair is in a week, and I can't go because of this awful thing.
Hopefully things will be better someday.

Be back with more animal pictures later. Taking a break from Ttalk. Going through a really really rough patch. Take care everyone!
Feel better soon, Lab. Sending you a warm hug until you come back again.

@aot will keep up with posting cute animal pictures. :)

I've missed on a lot of things since tinnitus started, AOT.
I just learned to do life in a different way. :huganimation:

Hey, what is everyone's real name, if I may ask??:p:wacky:

Mary
Aka Onceuponatime aka Once aka OUT aka (I better stop here)... LOL. :D:rolleyes::wacky::whistle:

@aot Ah, that is everything. I miss those sweet little kitten snuggle days. I actually dreamt of getting another cat! A bangle! Though even in my dream I was like "no this needs to stop now!" Ha-ha! Plus, my other cats are just balancing out.

@Orions Pain Gosh to I get you. I went to listen to my chickens lungs through a stethoscope and I can't hear anything in a stethoscope now but my screaming T!! So I'm trying to go by breathing sounds until I can find someone who is willing to play chicken doctor with me. So annoying.

@OnceUponaTime Shera is my real name. I use it because everyone thinks it's fake. ;)

@aot they did drop the entire season of Castlvania!! I'm trying to see when to squeeze it in. I've gone done the whole of dramaland again and I've been reading this one series of books I've meant to reread and catch up/finish for a while.

My Cat Minnie Mouse likes to snuggle with me every night! And I can confirm that Castlevania season 3 is amazing.

Good for you! Let's see pictures of the inside!!!
Of course! (Forwarned, I'm bad at taking pictures.)

The three covers (Six Volumes, two volumes per book.)
It has great art (Originally published in Black and White, but is now in color.)

Hilarious dialouge! (Vegans have superpowers apparently.)

And funny expressions!

Scott Pilgrim is probably one of the most creative comics of the last decade. A mixture of a Slice Of Life drama and sheer absurd crazy. I love it. (The film adapation directed by Edgar Wright is also great.)

My Cinder pie does too. She's gets antsy if I don't sit down on the couch for snuggle times. The other cats will sit to the side because Cinder has a monopoly on snuggles.

This is super random but I've recently read that Justin Bieber has been reported to have Lyme which is often accompanied by Hyperacusis and Tinnitus. With him being in the music industry since probably around 2009 or so, I wonder if he will also develop this condition. Perhaps he's also on this forum and we don't even know it lol

I also read that as well. Maybe he has a really mild form of hyperacusis or tinnitus.

He did wear earplugs one time but not properly.

That'd be interesting! A few people in the entertainment industry have tinnitus, but most of them don't really talk about it for whatever reason. The one who's done the most as far as I can tell is William Shatner (caused by an explosion on the set of the original Star Trek, Leonard Nimoy also allegedly had tinnitus from the same incident).

Even then the most he's done is discuss it in a few interviews and a video to promote the ATA.

If Bieber actually has tinnitus and hyperacusis, it'd be great if he could raise some awareness and donate to some research. It'd almost be enough to forgive that crappy music.

Almost.

Oh yeah that would me amazing!
Louis Tomlinson has tinnitus and is slightly deaf in one ear. Zedd lost hearing in one ear suddenly in 2014. They haven't really been super outspoken about it though.

There's one DJ - Excision, who has had tinnitus since he was a kid. He puts on a music festival called Lost Lands yearly and actually sends out ear plugs for everyone to use which is awesome. He's pretty vocal about hearing protection on Twitter.

Steve Aoki has it - just found this thread.

I'm not sure if these artists aren't promoting hearing protection because of contract/industry regulations or because they're just indifferent about it because it's a lifestyle choice they made for themselves so they fear backlash from the general public.

I got a feeling it's more contract/industry regulations. It's bloody criminal how they do not promote about hearing damage and they should advise their fans to wear earplugs at concerts.

I wish more can be done about it.

RIGHT.
People would still go to concerts, they'd just do so with protection. I wish I was one of those people who had gotten mild tinnitus for like a week that would have scared me into wearing ear plugs.

Me too. I never got the chance to get temporary tinnitus. If I did I would have protected my ears like crazy.

I'm pretty sure the musician Grimes also had to cancel some of her shows and tours a while ago due to tinnitus and hearing loss concerns.
