That's where we get back to the notion of tinnitus of a symptom rather than a disease. In some cases it appears that tinnitus is just a symptom of another problem, either a mechanical problem in the ears or jaw, or a structural problem in the brain. In other cases, such as Mpt's, it appears that the problem is maladaptive plasticity. Something happens that harms the operation of neurons exhibiting the Kv channels under discussion and the brain falls into a bad pattern that continues after the damage has been cleaned up.Well the answer on it is to bee seen, there ate apparently many diferent forms of tinnitus, some treatable, some a with retigabine, some with neuro operation by Swiss doctor, and some totally resistant. How why, well it is just i think pure luck.
I'm just wondering which one I am. My tinnitus is idiopathic, so I can't say definitely that I'm in that Mpt crowd, but I've also had a number of diagnostic tests show that there's nothing wrong structurally. *Sigh*
