South Korean Clinic Treatment (Dr. Minbo Shim)

All I want is improvement in the high frequencies >6khz. Guess that throws out it would easier to treat HF since that part is closer.
I wonder what would happen if they just injected into the outer part that is responsible for HF.

Minbo Shim said that the higher frequencies were harder to treat due to them having more prior destruction. I think they can be handled with more treatments.

Regardless, anyone considering this, I think should wait until October. South Korea apparently has its own Black Friday kind of month, and his clinic offers 50% off ($3,000) during then. It would also allow people to save money over time.

I do seriously consider this but my doubt is that I have the biggest hearing loss in very high frequencies (over 8 till 20kHz) and that's probabely where my tinnitus is coming from. Since we know that higher frequencies are more difficult to treat I wander if it really makes sense in my case.

I wouldn't blame him, honestly. If I developed a breakthrough cure I wouldn't want ANY competition for a while.

The way to deal with this is to file a patent, and license it to the rest of the world. There's only so much throughput you can have through your own clinic, so if you worry about revenue loss, you need to think about letting others do the work, but get money while they do.
Also, without a patent, since your idea is going to be discovered fairly quickly (especially if it works), your lead time isn't going to be such an amazing benefit in the big scheme of things.
Finally, it's very hard to keep a secret to patients: who wants to go to a doctor for an experimental therapy where the doctor isn't even willing to say what is going to be done to you? I'm sure there may be some patients willing to do it, but you can't really run a business without telling your patients what you are about to do to them.

Lets wait another 2 days, then remind him friendly :D
He hasn't answered my last email either. It can sometimes take two days.

However, he is aware of this thread and Vaka's analysis. I told him about it. He said it was a very interesting event for someone to do that.

This is what i am wondering too.

See what i think is even "higher freq" is more "worn out" than lower freq, then bringing the, "to previous state" of maybe not perfect but good enough for brain to receive proper feedback , it should stop Tinnitus at that frequency. I am also sure that high freq will require more procedures done, however key here is going to be how good & clean your blood would be. If you are planning on getting this done, start proper diet to get blood to optimal state so that healing is promoted.

This is actually why I think that anyone who wants to do this treatment should certainly research and save up money for the LLLT first (I am pretty sure LLLT is legitimate, a lot of people say so on here anyway) , while going on an adequate diet. Set a goal for the treatment being in October so you can save 50% of money.

In doing this, you will have a healthy body, help the cochlea heal a bit with LLLT to possibly maximize potential, and save some money doing so. This is all theoretical, but I am confident it can work. Saving money for October also gives enough time to evaluate options.

how do i do LLLT here in NYC ? or is this "at home" kind of stuff ?

For buying one online for home use, this comparison chart can be helpful. The only laser missing from the chart is the LK-Combi / Combi-Laser from Lucky Laser (details at second link), which is discussed extensively on TTalk.

Thanks for links, but is there any guarantee i won`t screw up my ears through use of this LLLT by myself ? i.e. how do i know how to correctly use it ? I am sure that doctors that have success with LLLT have protocol that they follow

Unfortunately, I do not think there are clear answers to your good questions. There is a very long thread on TTalk discussing all those issues:

We only found out about him like two months ago plus his treatment is new..

Haha true. I've read that a lot of eastern Europeans go to South Korea for treatment. There has to be some Russian medical forums, unless those sites are blocked by the Kremlin ;-)

Hmm, good question! And based on what this doctro says - yes, they do (this is why 1 treatment consists of two injections in to each ear, one week apart). Now, is there any healing months after that? Dont know, but if it soaks in to cochela well - i assusme it would get a bit better. This treatment requires multiple cycles (as per doctor) to restore hearing as much as possible (if not completely(depends on damage)) so anotger words, 50 injections in each ear most likely restore 99% + cure tinnitus feom acoutsic teauma for sure, lol!

Looking at his homepage the patients have major hearing loss in the speech frequencies requiring HA for daily use - unlike a lot of the people here who are ready to kill themselves over a 10db loss..

I live in Tokyo so I go check this clinic out flying in and out the same day.

That's great! If you really do go, please tell us about your experience.
