That's the classic stratosphere chamber that they used to investigate flying fast at high altitude.Walking round this incredible site reminded me that in the old days, engineers defined problems, before going on to solve them. Any guesses what and where this 'thing' is?

New video shows the terrifying moment an alligator lunged at a woman walking her dog by a lake in her Florida community, dragging her to her death.
The horrifying nightmare captured on video obtained by Inside Edition unfolded in front of a neighbor who frantically called 911 as she tried to help the woman. But it was too late.
Gloria Serge, 85, died after she was mauled to death by the 10-foot gator when she tried to rescue her beloved dog, Trooper, from the reptile's clutches on Monday.
I just saw this. I feel bad for the woman who tried to help. She's gotta be traumatized.
What I'm trying to understand is why she would walk so close to the edge of pond that is probably brimming with alligators? So sad that she went that way when she really didn't have to.
@Damocles, I live in Louisiana and a few years back after hurricane Ida, an alligator ate an older man. Everything was flooded and he walked through the water to get something out of his shed, well, a gator was in there and attacked him. His wife saw the whole thing happen. Somehow they managed to get him back on the stairs of their porch. The wife then took a boat to try and find help but when she returned, he was no longer there. The gator went up on the stairs, grabbed him and dragged him back into the waters to eat him. They later captured the gator and found his remains in it.New video shows the terrifying moment alligator lunges at woman | Daily Mail Online

Here's another crazy encounter in Florida I remember. Can you name any other place where you can find an alligator in your kitchen and then go outside and find a crackhead singing amazing grace in the sewers? This reminds me of the you open door, you see this memes.
Except in those the this was rarely an alligator...

That looks absolutely delicious! I used to have a neighbour from Illinois and he'd make cornbread like that, yummmmm, I can smell yours through the screenHomemade breakfast sausage soup and true southern cornbread. Thems dang good vittles.
It's a very simple old old recipe handed down to my mum. I have it now. The paper it was written on has yellowed with butter stains and flour drippings. But it's readable. That looks absolutely delicious! I used to have a neighbour from Illinois and he'd make cornbread like that, yummmmm, I can smell yours through the screen
Your cat is so pretty I love it when they decide they want to sit on your chest. Mine likes to do it when I am trying to use my laptop.
