  • Who takes Lexapro daily, and does it improve mood on bad days?
    Tryn2BHopeful
    I try to keep an open mind for people on this. I know it has helped some, but I entirely feel it caused my tinnitus.

    "I know it could benefit me, but I'm afraid to take it after reading your story. I have a script I filled out at home.

    When lying in bed to sleep, I would occasionally have a muscle twitch in an arm or leg. After being off the medication, that seems to have stopped, but I'm still having some stomach discomfort and growling after it had eased a lot temporarily. That was the worst part about being on it for me, and I'm still dealing with that part. Maybe it aggravated an underlying condition.
    I met with a psych yesterday. He nailed on the meds for me. I haven't slept this well in a long time. He gave me Hydroxyzine.
    RunningMan
    For Zolpidem, that's what I do. Just one pill at a time, but I want to have at least 2 pieces ready. For Ativan, just have the bottle and take a full 0.5mg pill occasionally. Hydroxyzine full pills also, but rarely use it. Had bad night last night - couldn't sleep til after 4 AM. Had COVID shot in afternoon, maybe related.

    It's been 5 days. No, I didn't notice any change in my tinnitus.
    Download my Barometer app. When you see high pressure, you may notice a change in ear fullness or popping.
    Supersix
    The Barometer has increased today, and I feel fullness and pressure in my ear. In the past, I thought something was going on inside my ear. When the Barometer decreases, the fullness and pressures will go away. My ENT told me this and he is spot on.

    Ugh. I probably have ETD now. I haven't had too much pressure lately but we're coming into colder months so IDK if that's why or what.
    What's up, T Nights! How's everyone feeling today? Thanksgiving is almost here. What is your favorite thing to eat on Thanksgiving?
    I had three great days, and then all hell broke loose last night. ETD Was closed and had severe pain and deep ringing.Brutal.

    Doesn't even make sense. Same here. Great couple days then bang.. terrible TTTS and a spike.
    Supersix
    @cjbhab

    It never makes sense. It's rare for me to have three good days in a row.
    Good Morning all. How many hours of sleep did you get? I slept 4 hours. I have low-level hissing this morning. I'm going for a nice walk.
    RunningMan
    Good afternoon. Well, I had maybe 6 hours of sleep. Mine is broken up so much, it's pretty hard to know the total any night. Fitbit is very inaccurate. I got by with just 1.7 mg of zolpidem when I woke at 3:30 AM and finally got to sleep again after 4 AM.
    Tryn2BHopeful
    My fitbit says 9hours... I doubt that.
    What type of pain medicine should I ask for that won't spike my T after Lithotripsy, and what about sedation?
    Tryn2BHopeful
    All they gave me was tylenol, ibuprofen, and oxybutynin. I didn't have T yet so I had no concerns. I wonder if it all created the perfect storm...

    @Tryn2BHopeful

    I had tinnitus when my stone dropped, with no spike from the morphine.
    It's so terrible that I have to listen to sound all day with my sound machines or open ear earbuds and listen to it all night because of how bad my tinnitus is.This has ruined my life.
    Tryn2BHopeful
    It sure feels that way doesn't it. Hell masking sounds just make my T louder. That said I actually found myself laughing at something the other day, for the first time in 5 months. Maybe things can get better albeit not the same?
    Supersix
    @SharonBell
    Do you ever have a day when the noise comes down a little?
    I normally try to go by 9:30 but I have to take something or I will wake up so many times or wake up and not be able to go back to sleep. I wear my Fitbit to bed so I can keep up with my sleep. I did actually have a better schedule I was going to bed at 8:30 and not sure why I changed it.
    What time do you try and go to bed? I attempt to go to sleep at 10 p.m., and I wake up two or three times
    RunningMan
    Nice. That seems like pretty good sleep on such a small dose of Lorazepam. Good to avoid zolpidem if you can get by without it. I wish I could.
    Supersix
    @RunningMan
    Would you prefer to fall asleep on half of 0.5 Lorazepam or 1.7 Zolpidem? Long-term, which one is better for you?
    RunningMan
    I've never tried Lorazepam for sleep near 3 AM to really compare, plus not all nights are equal, but it takes longer for Loraz to take effect and stays in system longer. Bedtime low dose may give Loraz an advantage vs. my usage. Similar mechanisms, benzo vs benzo-like, so long term probably not much difference.
    Listening to white noise through hearing aids or AirPods can be beneficial. It will improve your mood;
    Please tell me what yall drink I'm tired of drinking water and milk. Not sure if milk makes it louder or not.
    Tryn2BHopeful
    Honestly its different for everyone. Some people have zero issues with coffee and sugar, others do.
    What do you guys drink? I was drinking a small cup of decaf coffee or tea in the morning and that still has some caffeine in it. Havnt had that in a few days. I buy all caffeine free drinks, but they still have sugar and then I bought caffeine free and zero sugar and they have aspartame in them. It seems like sugar makes mine worse.
    Supersix
    @Tryn2BHopeful @SharonBell

    I have been drinking coffee every day for 30 years. I gave it up a month ago when I was going through some destructive cycles. I noticed that my ear is producing less wax than it used to. My ear would be wet three times a week, and it would cause a spike every time it was making wax.
    Supersix
    I searched on Google a few weeks back and discovered that coffee consumption can increase earwax production.
    SharonBell
    I always listen to sound therapy every day and every night.I don't season my food very much.I sure do miss my sweets though.
    Does anybody take gabapentin and does it have side effects on your tinnitus?
    Supersix
    @SharonBell
    I never have. Try posting in your update status bar. You will get more responses. Also, type the name of a drug in the search bar at the top right it will pop up several discussions on any medication you type in,
    SharonBell
    Ok thanks for telling me about the search bar.
    Does anyone take Tylenol pm-well it's the generic brand, pain relief pm for sleep and can't Benadryl help you sleep also? My audiologist I use to work with said, that I could take those just go by the directions and not take to much , because I thought Tylenol, ibuprofen , aspirin and all that was otoxic, but I guess just follow the directions don't take every day.
    Supersix you said, you take Trazadone . My doctor prescribed that to me also. To start with it was take it at night for sleep and then she said, take 1/2 during the day for my anxiety. How is it to you. Did your Dr. look that up and how about flexeril- do you know anything about that one?
    Supersix
    @SharonBell
    Trazadone didn't work for me. It spiked my tinnitus. Try a 1/2 and see how it works for you. I take a Larazopam when needed for anxiety. Other than that, I try to keep it clean. I recently went through a rough cycle with my Tinnitus
    SharonBell
    Ok yeah I'm going through it really bad right now. I took a generic Tylenol pm last night and I slept. I can't take it every night though so don't know what I'm going to do.
    I'm not looking forward to the holidays this year. It is so hard for me to even cook now.

    @SharonBell

    Supersize where is the status bar?
    I had an ENT appointment yesterday eustachian and pressure tests were done. The doctor told me to continue taking magnesium and there was nothing that could be done about it.
    4alien2
    Can you look at the eustachian tube muscles for me? There are 4 muscles such as tt and tvp muscles, but the most important muscle for eustachian is the tensor veli palatini. My problem may be spasm of this muscle because I hear its humming and magnesium is what is good for it. @Supersix
    Supersix
    I will ask my ear, nose, and throat doctor when I see him in a few months and do some research for you.
    4alien2

    My chiropractor reduced my tinnitus a little after adjusting my neck and ears.I should have done this eight years ago.
    SarahMLFlemmer
