Do you know the manufacturer of the MRI? Mine was Siemens. 20 minutes that ruined my hearing forever... it’s been a year. Call your GP and tell him you can’t get into an ENT yet, and you need Prednisone... then go to a minute clinic, tell them you had an ear trauma... get more Prednisone...

I had neither positive nor negative effects from taking prednisone for 10 days... remember the dosage you are taking is very important. Some of these ENTs want to start you in a 40mg taper... which is basically worthless IMO. On another note... got a new-to-me car with Infotainment/Apple Car...

Buy a Lectrofan or other masker to sleep with at night before starting any sleep medication IMO. Prednisone shouldn’t be treated lightly, and neither should any medication including sleep meds.

Would another type of scan work for this? If someone mentioned “tinnitus” to a FAA flight surgeon they have to consider a brain tumor unless there is an obvious cause (like the rock concert the night prior). Just learn from my mistakes... don’t trust the technician... search out a quiet...

I find the mix useful as a distraction background noise and I believe it suppresses my tinnitus for a minute after turning the sound off... but that’s it. Some of those YouTube, or other nature sounds... for tinnitus are more annoying for me... this is not a silver bullet... just a sound file...

Movies, in the US anyway, can be very loud... I’d wear earplugs... I did even after my tinnitus disappeared years ago.

Given your age, I think there is a good chance it will go away within 2 years, just protect your hearing... remember any place you have to raise your voice to converse to someone next to you... is probably too loud. Good Luck.

What if someone just deals with their tinnitus... no background sounds... will your brain still try to adjust... or will it “memorize” the sound and make it etched into the brain?
